I had the chance to interview number #6, Ashley Lewis a forward/ midfield on the Varsity McCluer South Berkeley Soccer Team. For this interview I didn’t really have many questions so I let Ashley voice her opinion for about a minute on how she felt about the 80 minutes she played as well as the team. Tuesday the ladies went against University City High School at U-City. Lewis stated that “It was our first game and that unfortunately we didn’t come out with the win, the ending score was 1-0”. Lewis said “We played good as a team, we all played as one and we didn’t fall out on the field but a lot of things could’ve changed”. I asked Ashley what exactly she meant she stated that “Committed players, as a team we should’ve had all our players there for the girls when they got or get winded, we should’ve had subs and unfortunately we didn’t”. Lewis also said that “Most of our girls played a full 80 minutes including her and that some of the other girls need to be more skilled with playing with both feet”. Lewis felt as if the girls playing on the wing should’ve tried harder to get the ball to the middle of the field so they could try to score more. Ashley said “Yesterday I injured the goalie, I attacked her every single time, I outran every single girl on that team, nobody is faster than me and I tried my hardest but I just couldn’t get a goal in. Lastly I asked Lewis what was her strength in the game she stated “I believe yesterday my strength was my speed and my talent”.
