Multiple Teams · Hazelwood West vs. MSB (Varsity Boys)

By Akya Carpenter and Nyajah Williams

As the basketball season continues the McCluer South Berkeley Bulldogs play Hazelwood West Wildcats. When asked Tavian Willis #15 a point guard on how the game went he simply stated “It went very well it was a very competitive game but it was fun.” As me and Akya Carpenter continued on with the interview we got a little more into detail about the win the MSB Bulldogs took. “I lead my team and moved the ball around” is the answer we got when we asked him what he felt he did good throughout the game. Tavian stated, “If we would’ve had a better transitional defense, we could have scored more.” Nevertheless, McCluer South Berkeley High School won, with the ending score being 87- 72. We tried to get another perspective from varsity player Jaden Henderson, but weren’t able to because of time. As we concluded the interview with Tavian Willis he told us what he could have worked on himself personally he proclaimed how tired he was throughout the game. The solution he came up with to get over the obstacle was “I’m going to practice on getting in shape and running more in practice.”  Come out and support your bulldogs Tuesday, Jan. 31st as they play against Affton.  Tip-off begins at 4:00 p.m with the freshmen, followed by JV at 5:30 and varsity at 7.
