Multiple Teams · JV Volleyball Stands Tall…Despite the Fall

JV girls volleyball might have lost the game, but they won’t allow that defeat to keep them down.  Although they lost their game, JV girls believed that they played a much better game this game against Clayton, than their last game against U-City. The JV girls might have lost both games, but they feel like they approved themselves as a team. As stated by Shyann Sampson (pregame) “We are going to have positive energy, communicate, we’re going to call the ball, and we are going to work together”. As stated by Crystien Esters (pregame) “We’re going to just focus more during this game, because we weren’t really focused during the U-City game”. I asked the girls how could they improve themselves. Crystien Esters stated (pregame) “As a player I can improve on focusing more because when once I am on the court I get very nervous, and it makes it hard to focus because of my nerves. I then questioned, “Do you think your team works together well?” Shyann answers, “Yes, our team works together, but we could always improve on keeping our spirits up the entire game even when we are losing”. After the game I caught with the girls and I asked them “ How they felt about the loss”. The response from Shyann was “ We worked together well, we communicated, we could’ve did better”. The last question I asked was, “How important is it to communicate during the game?” As stated by Crystien,“Communication during the game is very essential because it helps the team act as one, when we call the ball it builds team unity.”
